The old bridge of Dezful is located near the city of Dezful in South Western Iran. The foundation for the bridge is said to be 1700 years old and goes back to the sassanid dynasty. This bridge connects the western and eastern part of the city of Dezful.
The bridge was founded by the order of the sassanid king, Shapoor I, using 70 Roman prisoners of war. The bridge has been repaired and rebuilt over the years by king Azdodole Deilami, Saffavid and Pahlavi dynasties.
It is impressive to know that until 2 years ago cars passed on top of the bridge which was stopped because of its historic value.
